1969 NCAA All-America swimmer Barry Goldfarb helped Colorado State University achieve national recognition as a collegiate swimming powerhouse.
After he learned to swim at the Westside Jewish Community Center, Goldfarb went on to become an AAU Junior National Swimming Champion and national record holder, specializing in breaststroke events. Beginning his competitive swimming career at

Hamilton High School, the All-City breaststroker and freestyler went on to Santa Monica Community College, where he won eight All-America honors. There, he set League, Southern California and California State records in both breaststroke and freestyle events. He then moved on to an All-America year at Colorado State, where his NCAA successes qualified him for a spot on the 1969 United States World Maccabiah Games team..
