Gymnastics - 2018

Samantha "Sami" Shapiro is a five-time member of the USA Gymnastics National Team. While a teenager, in 2007, she won Gold on the Balance Beam and Silver in the All-Around competition, the Uneven Bars, and Floor Exercise at the USA VISA Championships. In 2008, she won the Balance Beam, took the Gold on the Uneven Bars, and came in 2nd in the All-Around, earning a spot on the Senior Elite National team. There she helped the U.S. Team win the team Gold Medal, and won individual Gold on Uneven Bars and a Silver in the All-Around competition. Unfortunately, she was five months too young to make the 2008 Olympic Team.

In March 2009, Samantha represented the U.S. at the Montreal World Cup, where she sustained a broken foot in training, but persevered to win Gold on the Uneven Bars. She retired from elite level gymnastics to compete for the Stanford Cardinal womenís gymnastics team, where she earned the First-Team All-American honor and finished as a runner-up on the Uneven Bars at the NCAA Championships in Duluth, Georgia.

In 2013 and 2014, she was first team NCAA All-American and finished second on the Uneven Bars after winning the regional championship with a score of 9.95. She completed her career in 2015, scoring a 9.9 in the Uneven Bars at the NCAA Championships.
